I was born and raised in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, PA.  I graduated from Peters Township High School where I made honor roll multiple times and ran track for 2 years.

I always had a passion for firefighting and joined my local fire department as a volunteer when I was a senior in high school. The moment I found out that I became a volunteer was the happiest time of my life.

I attended Landmark College in Vermont where I had the opportunity to study abroad in Australia and the US Virgin Islands. Part of my time in the Virgin Islands was spent on a boat for 5 days, tech free, learning to sail. I studied intercultural communications in Australia. Among the activities I took part in while in Australia were sand boarding, participating in a multicultural parade, and attending an Australian rules football game. In addition, I played for the Landmark College baseball team and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

After receiving my associates degree, I decided to further my education at Lynn University where I graduated in December of 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism. I like how fire departments use multiple forms of media to educate the public on what the fire service is about and how to stay safe from hazards. In the summer of 2018 I had an internship with the Virginia Beach Fire Department, working alongside the Public Information Officer and assisting with press releases and creating Facebook posts on fire safety. The following summer I interned with Hilton Head Island Fire and Rescue. I created various training videos and published numerous social media posts regarding the training of new recruits and safety tips. Both of these internships allowed me to combine my passion for firefighting and interest in media.

I like to play sports, travel and workout. A few of the places I have visited include Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, Aruba and California.  I also enjoy reading about current events.
